A series of well-attended meetings have been held, bringing together residents, developers, council officers and businesses. Ideas and draft policy positions for planning and land use have been recorded, with calls for an end to years of neglect.

Your opportunity to help this festival take place. The Crystal Palace Festival runs from 11 – 17 June, and volunteers are sought in a variety of fields, ideally for six hours work.
Receive full training from industry professionals, have a fun filled shift while making new friends, be invited to regular social events and give something back to your community.

What are ‘community assets’?
They are any ‘place’ – indoors or out – that could be used for an event. It could be for public events like workshops or live music nights, or it could be for private events such as a wedding reception or a surgery. The guide will list everything you need to know – location, resources available such as kitchen or kettle/chairs and tables, access information including parking, contact details and, of course, cost.
The results are in, and Labour has been returned to power in Lambeth and retains a strong position in Norwood. As a whole in Lambeth the breakdown of the total 63 seats (= 63 Councillors) were:
Labour: 57 seats (-1)
Greens: 5 seats (+4)
Conservatives: 1 seat (-2)

Last year South London Theatre (SLT) announced that they would bring an arts festival to West Norwood and its community on returning to their Old Fire Station home. The newly restored SLT Fire Station and its theatre will be at the heart of this open-access 10 day multi-arts festival, with satellite events taking place all across West Norwood.
The festival dates are Friday 3 - Sunday 12 August 2018.

Local elections are being held across the borough to elect all 63 councillors to serve on Lambeth Council. Locally, there are elections for the Gipsy Hill, Knights Hill and Thurlow Park wards.

This year’s Lambeth Readers and Writers Festival runs from Monday 30 April to Monday 4 June with a month-long programme of inspirational literary events. Highlights include:
A public consultation is now underway on the proposed location of trees, benches and bollards which will go in along Norwood Road between Robson Road and Tulse Hill station under the Streetworks project. Last week, Norwood Forum walked the length of the road with Council officers identifying a number of possible locations, and also raised a number of grot spot issues and other actions needed to tidy up the road.
