Talented speaker David tells the story, with dramatic readings, of “the man who invented Christmas”, including how A Christmas Carol, written at lighting speed, inspired enduring aspects of Christmas as family gatherings, seasonal food and drink, dancing, games and a festive generosity of spirit.

The Vincennes War Memorial in West Norwood, London will host a Remembrance Day service on Remembrance Sunday and all are welcome to attend.

West Norwood Picturehouse will screen LYD, a sci-fi documentary about Lyd, a 5,000-year-old Palestinian town that thrived until its conquest with the establishment of Israel in 1948. Free event but donations to charity welcome.
