The new #YouCanAdopt campaign launches in Lambeth to debunk the myths on adoption and highlight the number of children looking for a new family. A coalition of National, Regional and Voluntary adoption agencies across the country, supported by the Department for Education (DfE), have joined forces to launch a nationwide recruitment campaign to raise awareness of adoption.
Every school and library in Lambeth will get a copy of the new book 100 Great Black Britons this year as part of Lambeth Council’s Black History Month programme of education, entertainment and celebration. The book honours the remarkable achievements of key Black British individuals over history.

London Wildlife Trust are looking for beautiful, inspiring, funny, surprising photos of the Great North Wood. The best thirteen images will be chosen for the Great North Wood 2021 Calendar. The winners will receive a free calendar and the overall winner will get a meal for two at The Great North Wood pub.
You may have seen one of these cards on your doormat and wondered what this was all about? Lambeth’s Electoral Registration Officer must undertake a canvass of all households in the borough each year to check voter details are correct. 'Canvassers' are out and about knocking on the doors of residents who have not already confirmed their details have changed - and more importantly - confirmed their details remain unchanged. You have to do this every year.
Due to a leaking roof the swimming pool at the West Norwood Health & Leisure Centre has been closed for over a week. At the time of writing the staff are hoping Lambeth Council would inspect and perhaps repair the damage this week and the swimming pool could reopen next week. We hope the timeline will not be longer than this. On a positive note the gym remains open and has appropriate social distancing measures in place. Lesiure and gym facilities remain open under the government High COVID-19 alert level.
