In response to the ongoing impact of Covid-19, the Solace Women’s Aid Empowering Women Fund aims to fill a gap in support for organisations that are supporting women to recover from problems exacerbated by the pandemic. The scheme will provide funding to support small women’s groups and organisations to develop innovative ways of empowering women in their local area and build their capacity. On Sunday afternoon 25 April two teenage girls, aged 16- and 17-years-old, suffered stab injuries during a violent incident at Norwood Road, West Norwood. The younger victim’s condition has been assessed as serious but stable, while the second victim’s injuries are not life-threatening. By Monday afternoon the Metropolitan police had made three arrests in relation to the incident.
